Divine Pustulence – Tortured, Raped and Sacrificed to Satan (2008)

Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore (US)
Every song on this album is about a serial killer or mass murderer and a detailed description of the atrocities he committed.  This is a very sick CD that was originally released by Vrykoblast Productions in Singapore.

Lethality – Everyone Will Suffer EP (2013)

Brutal Death Metal
I’m actually enjoying this more than anything else I’ve heard from Russia.  I want to make the Goemagot face every time I listen to this.  The CD is available at Anopsys and Inherited Suffering Records.

Discarga – Happy Night Electric Experience (2002)

Thrash/Hardcore/Punk
For many people, when they think of Brazil, it’s all about Sepultura or Ratos de Porao, but for me it’s definitely Discarga.  They have such an original sound: super fast and great vocals.

The Squawk – We’re All Fighting For Democracy (2009)

Thrash/Punk
Hong Kong is a region that has embraced the American ideals of capitalism and democracy.  The punks there have a lot of passion and conviction in their beliefs and many of them are social activists.  This band/album captures the spirit of the underground scene in Hong Kong.

Ezophagothomia – Instinct of Inhuman Devourment (2011)

Ezophagothomia play dark, brooding, slamming brutal death metal from Ukraine.  This CD is available at Inherited Suffering Records.

Cerebral Incubation – Asphyxiating on Excrement (2009)

Brutal Death Metal (Las Vegas, NV)
Cerebral Incubation play a perfected style of slamming brutal death metal.  Asphyxiating on Excrement was their first album.  They recently released their second CD, Gonorrhea Nodule Mastication, on Sevared Records.

Greedy Mouth – Eat//Smoke//Poop (2011)

Powerviolence (Corpus Christi, TX)
Greedy Mouth write about smoking weed, drinking beer, eating food, and being vegan.  The last song is a great cover of Dropdead’s, “At the Cost of an Animal.”

Revilement – Pillars of Balance (2011)

Brutal Death Metal (Taiwan)
Revilement are not very well known yet in the Western Hemisphere but they will be.  This is well composed death metal by musicians serious about the craft.  Pillars of Balance is Revilement’s first full-length CD available at Coyote Records.

Carnivore Diprosopus – Condemned by the Alliance (2013)

Brutal Death Metal (Colombia)
This is the most brutal release of 2013 from one of the sickest bands in the world.  Your darkest nightmares are real.  The New World Order will consume and destroy everything in its path.  Condemned by the Alliance is available at Sevared Records.

Seplophile – Mesonoxian (2013)

Death Metal (Buffalo, NY)
If you didn’t already buy this CD from Butchered or Sevared Records, I hope a ton of bricks falls from heaven and crushes your pathetic excuse of a skull.  DEATH METAL PREVAILS.

Avulsion – Prince of a Thousand Enemies EP (2000)

“Buffalo Grindcore: Est. 1993”
Avulsion have been active in the underground scene since you were probably an infant.  They are one of the first grindcore bands I saw live and this is one of the first grindcore CDs I ever bought.

Saywhy?/d.h.i.b.a.c. - Split EP (2007)

Grindcore/Powerviolence
d.h.i.b.a.c. opened me up to the world of French grindcore.  France is home to some of the best and most original grindcore and powerviolence bands in the world.  Saywhy? play grindcore from the Czech Republic.  I actually didn’t get into Czech grindcore until more recently.

Elasticdeath – Monster Inside Us (2008)

Powerviolence
Elasticdeath hails from Rio de Janeiro.  They play powerviolence in the vein of Spazz.  This was Elasticdeath’s first release and it is already a powerviolence classic.

MxDxKx – Splatterguts (2005)

“Brazilian Perverse Goregrind”
MxDxKx are without a doubt my favorite goregrind band.  This was their first full-length CD.  They have since released two other full-lengths, Cuntanasia and Into the Pussymorgue, and tons of splits.  Splatterguts is a modern goregrind classic.  All of MxDxKx’s full-length CDs are currently available at Bizarre Leprous Production.

Amputated Genitals – Human Meat Gluttony (2005)

Brutal Death Metal

This is another influential album for me and one which also opened me up to the international scene, more specifically, Colombia.  Some of my favorite death metal bands are from Colombia and they are BRUTAL, I believe some of the most brutal death metal on the planet.  The compilation, A Bombardment from the Southern Paradise, showcases many of the bands that I’m talking about.  Sevared Records still has a few copies of that compilation available.

Torsofuck – Erotic Diarrhea Fantasy (2004)

Goregrind/Brutal Death Metal (Finland)

I first heard this album during a time in which I had grown bored with the metal and hardcore I was listening to.  I had been really involved in my local metal scene then but was unaware of all the other great hardcore and metal from around the world.  Torsofuck changed all that.  They opened my eyes to a vast international underground scene of extreme music and made me want to start my own brutal death metal/grindcore band.
